Frequently Asked Questions
For many, a monastery in the 21st century may seem anachronistic, conjuring images of silent hooded monks crouched over a candle-lit writing desks, or standing in large stone churches solemnly practicing Gregorian chant. Yet for others, the idea of a monk or monastery brings to mind a weather-hardened, ascetic, and wise old man alone in the desert. Whatever image one may have of a monk or the monastic life, if any, there will be questions in need of answers.
To the right, you will find the most frequently asked questions of both monastic discerners and of the family and friends of men who have entered the monastery.
